Custom Fightwear Design

Bring an idea, a mood board or a rough sketch. Our designers turn it into print-ready artwork and a spec we can sample from, built for how fightwear is actually made.

Designers working on a garment in a studio

Short answer: Our custom fightwear design service turns your concept into production-ready artwork: rash guard and short layouts, colorways, logo placement and print files sized to our patterns. Because our designers work next to the production floor, every design is checked for printability, seam alignment and cost before it reaches a sample.

What custom fightwear design includes

Designing fightwear isn't the same as designing a poster. A sublimated rash guard is printed flat on fabric panels that are then cut and sewn into a 3D garment that stretches over a body. Artwork has to account for seam lines, stretch zones, bleed, and how the sleeve and body panels meet. Our design service handles all of that.

  • Concept development: we take your brief, references and brand identity and propose design directions.
  • Pattern-based artwork: designs laid out on the actual pattern pieces of the product, not a flat mock-up.
  • Colorways: primary design plus alternative colorways, including BJJ belt-rank color sets for ranked rash guards.
  • Mock-ups: front, back and side views to approve before sampling.
  • Print-ready files: full-size artwork per size, color-separated where needed for screen printing.
  • Spec notes: fabric, decoration method and trim choices written down for the tech pack.

Who it's for

Custom design suits brands that know their identity but don't have a garment designer, gyms that want team gear that looks professional, and established labels that need extra design capacity for a seasonal drop. If you already have finished artwork, you can skip design and go straight to tech pack development or sample development.

Color matching book with swatches
Colorways are matched to Pantone references before sampling, so the sample matches what you approved on screen as closely as fabric allows.

Design decisions that affect cost and quality

Sublimation is often the most cost-effective option for complex artwork, because the number of colors doesn't change the price. Our guide to sublimation vs screen printing for fightwear explains when each makes sense.

Common design mistakes we fix early

  • Logos crossing seams. Text that runs over a side seam rarely lines up after sewing. We move critical elements onto single panels.
  • Fine detail in stretch zones. Thin lines across the chest or shoulders distort when the fabric stretches. We thicken or reposition them.
  • Dark designs with no contrast. Black-on-charcoal looks good on screen and disappears on fabric. We test contrast on a print strip.
  • Ignoring competition rules. Some BJJ federations have rules on rash guard coverage and rank colors for no-gi events. We flag this when it applies.

Who owns the design?

You do. Designs created for your brand are your property, used only for your orders, and the final files are yours to keep.
